Michaelina Wautier. Painter

Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, 30.9.2025-22.2.2026

The Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna is paying tribute to an Old Master: it is dedicating its major autumn exhibition to the great Flemish Baroque artist Michaelina Wautier (around 1620-after 1682), who has been forgotten for far too long. Almost all of Wautier’s surviving works (including 29 paintings) will be on display in Vienna for the first time. She will also be presented on a par with masters of her time such as Peter Paul Rubens and Anthonis van Dyck.
