Important information regarding your stay at the Kärntnerhof Hotel in Vienna.
Are there parking spots? Are they subject to any charge?
We offer parking spots in the neighbouring Heiligenkreuzerhof, a baroque and heritage-protected group of buildings. The charge is 20 €/night.
For this reason, these parking spots can only be accessed by vehicles from 6 am to 9 pm. Upon arrival, you will be chaperoned by one of our employees in the courtyard.
If you require a parking spot that is accessible at all times, we would, subject to availability, be happy to reserve a parking space in an underground car park that can be reached on foot in two minutes.
If you would like to use this facility, please notify us in a timely manner while making your reservations.
Does the hotel offer internet access, and how much does it cost?
Our free WLAN is available throughout the entire hotel.
A PC and printer can be used for free in our library on the 5th floor.
Is smoking permitted in the hotel? Is there a special smoking zone?
The Kärntnerhof is a non-smoking hotel.
Smoking is only permitted on the roof terrace and in front of the hotel. (Ashtrays are available)
Do you have an air conditioning system in the hotel/restaurant?
The lounge, the breakfast room, the lobby, the Dom suite and the Madame Rosa suite have air conditioning systems.
All the other rooms are equipped with a fan during the summer season.
Are children welcome?
Children are welcome. A child of up to 12 years of age can stay in a double room for free.
A child’s bed can be provided at no charge upon request.
Pets / Are dogs permitted at the hotel?
Yes, small dogs weighing up to 12 kg are allowed.
We charge a final cleaning fee of 40 € (room and stay) – In the Christiane Hörbiger suite: 100 € per stay.
However, please inform us at the time of reservation that you will be travelling with a dog. Not all rooms are suitable for dogs.
Dogs are not allowed in the Dom and Madame Rosa suites!
Does the price cover breakfast, and what are the breakfast times?
Yes, our prices cover an abundant breakfast buffet, which features selected regional and bio-products.
Breakfast is available from 7 am to 11 am.
Do you also offer lactose-free and gluten-free products?
Yes, the breakfast options also include lactose-free and gluten-free products.
These are clearly marked as such.
Is there a mini-bar in the room?
No, but various cold and warm beverages and small snacks can be brought to your room from 2 pm to 9 pm. These items can be ordered by calling the reception desk.
This service is also available from 2 pm to 9 pm in the lounge, and on the roof terrace on the 5th floor (during the warm months).
The drinks menu in the room contains a list of available items.
Beverages are available at all times in the reception area.
If you so desire, you can also cool medicines and the like. Please contact the reception desk to use this facility.
Can the water from the water line be drunk?
Viennese water is high-quality mountain spring water from the Alps, and can be drunk without hesitation.
Does the hotel have a restaurant?
No, we are located in the middle of the historical centre of Vienna, and are surrounded by a wide selection of goods restaurants. Everything from starred restaurants and classical Viennese pubs to numerous cafés is within walking distance.
Our front desk/reception would be happy to advise you and book a table.
Can we book opera/theatre/concert/event tickets for you?
We are happy to offer this service, and we request you to tell us what to reserve for you
as far in advance of your arrival as possible.
Is the reception desk staffed at all times?
Our reception desk is at your service at all times of the day – Late check-ins are always possible.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-out: Until 11 am
Check-in: From 2 pm onwards
Can I deposit my bags if I arrive early or leave late?
Yes, you can deposit your bags in our secure luggage room at no charge.
Do you organise transfers from/to the airport?
Naturally. If you give us your flight number and time or arrival in advance, we would be happy to coordinate a reliable transport service.
Can I do my laundry when I’m staying with you? Do you have a laundry service?
Yes. If you give us your laundry not later than 10 am, the washed and pressed clothes will be returned to your room on the same day, by about 4 pm.
The price list for the laundry service can be found in the guest information in the room.
Does the room have an iron?
No. For safety reasons, ironing may only be done in our lounge or breakfast room – It may not be done in the room.
Can bicycles be parked at the hotel?
Guests who use bicycles can park them for free in our closed inner courtyard.
Is there a bicycle rental service?
Vienna has a very good network of Citybikes, with several stands – In our vicinity, such facilities can be found at the Stephansplatz, the Hoher Markt and the Schwedenplatz, where you can register for just 1 € using your debit card.
Our reception desk can also help you get hire bikes.
Does the hotel have a fitness centre or SPA area?
Unfortunately, we do not have a SPA area or fitness centre. However, we do collaborate with the Holmes Place outlet on the Wipplingerstraße (which can be reached on foot in approximately 10 minutes from the hotel), where we offer special deals for our guests – The reception desk can provide the relevant information
Extra cleaning charges
If the rooms are very dirty, we have to charge cleaning fees from 100 € onwards.
We use carefully-selected and high-quality material and wallpaper, and are committed to keeping our establishment well-groomed and attractive for all our guests.
We would once again like to point that our hotel is a non-smoking hotel. If guests smoke in their rooms, we will have to charge a fine of 100 €. Also, please note that smoking could set off our fire detectors. We are connected directly to the fire brigade, and a fire run costs 400 €.
